Chemical success to wonder There were no strategic raw materials on the spot. They also got no natural strategic competence locally. Nevertheless, within a decade of 30 years, Rescon in Nord-Odal has become an international industrial player. The questions are closest to queue when to be presented:  How can an international research center for concrete and epoxy additives, important for oil extraction in the North Sea, end up in Nord-Odal?  And how can it be explained that a company with 200 employees says that 50 of them are in production - the rest adds something to their products ....?  At all - what does a company that works with concrete technology and polymer chemistry in Nord-Odalen, miles away from commodities and miles away markets? This success story began in 1976, when two brothers from Sogn after university studies and a few years in the uncle company in Oslo would start for themselves. Together with the factory manager, Cand All, they contacted the District Development Fund (as it used to be) at the time to find a place for their own factory. They rushed around in several municipalities but stopped in the meeting with Nord-Odal's young and enthusiastic Einar Olav Skogholt, who promised them housekeeping and promised to stand up for the company. Thus, they remained. The company got a municipality that has always been interested, and they have got a workforce who cares about their workplace. Research and development were and are core business, and when the development in the North Sea started and the drilling rig had concrete substrates, the efforts in research were acknowledged in sales. As the first company in Norway, Industrifondets Establishment Prize was awarded in 1981. Deliveries to oil platforms represent only part of the turnover, as well as land-based facilities have become significant buyers of products from Nord-Odal. Since 1998, the company has been part of the international Mapei Group, 3) Created CMC Partners AS, 1986 - As main shareholder of this consulting company in the field of cement and concrete technology, specialized into new advanced concrete application.
